Hi
I'm a new member from down under. I've recently inherited my dad's old tractor. It's in a pretty bad state of neglect and I've decided to at least get it back to running condition to do light duties on the family property.

I believe it's a Selectamatic 880,3 cyl, Serial 540113 (according to the plate on the rear left fender/guard).

Can anyone confirm the model and year of manufacture?

Also, does anyone know where I can source the proper operator and service manuals?

Numbers in Tractordata gives it as 1967, 703rd tractor of the 6590 built that year.

For manuals, try Plough Book Sales in Victoria, they have a good range available. Also, for DB parts, try Magnet Spares in Tamworth NSW. They specialise in DB. For any other info, send me a PM

Regards,

John

I got my workshop manual and parts manual from www.davidbrownparts.com in England.
Really good copies and excellent service.

Partmanuals for the 880 can be looked up on the net at http://www1.caseih.com/australia/PartsS ... earch.aspx

You can look up drawings of a lot of parts and also ask for quotes I believe, I can't lok up my DB25 but I look up and save the drawings of other tractors like the 950 as a lot of parts are the same.

No, I believe it is a copy of the proper David Brown workshop manual.
Dont forget to look at the http://www.caseih.com/index.aspx
website for the parts drawings.

Forgot to mention, a lot of librarys have workshop manuals for tractors.
Most of the time you cant borrow them so bring a camera or photocopy what you want.
Down in Tassie you can check whats in the library online and reserve it.
Worth a look at least.
