Well run the 1594 on the baler my problem of the day is that it was leaking fluid from both spool valves whilst running. dripping but quite continuous! Well oiled rear end. Would I be better replacing the couplings on the tractor or do they require new O rings in them if thats possible.
thanks in advance |

I presume you mean the quick fit couplings rather than the spool valves
First thing is to replace the o rings and the wiper rings on the hose end
if this does not help it may be worth changing the male end as they do wear
if that does not help
coonsider the situation
one is probably a rteturn
is there any pressure in the return?
if not this can be a problem which is difficult to cure
as the o rings need pressure to effect a seal
in this situation I have changed the return to a dowty style coupling and have a dedicated return to the proper port
This can be a good thing anyway as it discourages the oil heating |

| Sorry meant to say one pipe is the reel and the other was for the back door opening seperate pipes |

so when they are working the levers are right forward in float except when you lift the reel or the back door
This then means that the problem is largely coming about due to low pressure in the system not giving an effective seal
The option of replacing with Dowty couplings is not on
try replacing the male ends if replacing the o rings does not do the job
if this does not work you can replace the female ends but if they are the push fit type reasonalby expensive
could get away with putting old fashioned quick fit on perhaps
make sure also that the fittings are a true match
ie the male and female ends are both metric
years ago we used to get some male american fittings which were imperial and they fitted but were forever problems but I would not think this is the case here |

| Steve thanks again its when the levers are in the centre push towards the rear of the cab the door opens then push it to the front it closes. I will have a look hte leaks where the least of my problems as the baler gave up the ghost with about 2acres to go. Then had the wrapping to do so all good fun |
