| Just put new seals into pump. What oil should/can be used in it? Motor oil or ATF ? If ATF, which type? Thanx. |

I have used Motor oil in a leaking one, just in case it found its way into the crankcase.
Whatever ATF you can find that is cheap, no particular type as you are just using it as a hydraulic fluid. Red fluid is nice as it helps identify the source of a leak. "Hy-tran" would work too if you have it. |

| Motor oil is what I have been putting in this one exactly for that reason. Guess I should switch back to ATF now that it has new seals, but will still have some residual Motor oil in the cylinder and the rotary valve. My guess is it won't hurt? |

You could drain it if it bothered you(it wouldn't bother me). Just pop the lines off your cylinder, jack the front end up, and work the wheels and steering wheel back and forth a few times.
Did you change your steering filter too? |

| 2 years ago i out a pump on the 13, not having any atf around i threw hydraulic oil in, worked ok for about 3 months untill it started leaking, ate the filter and got in general bad shape, atf for me all the way now |
