About Us
How It All Started
The David Brown Tractor Club was established in the spring of 1995 by Martin George, a lifelong enthusiast of the David Brown brand. What began as a small gathering of like-minded individuals has since grown into a thriving international community with over 1,000 members from across the globe. The club serves as a focal point for owners, collectors, restorers, and admirers of David Brown tractors and equipment, a place where passion meets preservation.

Our Purpose
and Mission
The Club was formed to create a space where enthusiasts could come together to share experiences, source rare parts, provide technical advice, and preserve the legacy of the David Brown name. This guiding principle is enshrined in the Club Rules, which define its purpose as:
“To preserve and further the name of David Brown, David Brown tractors, implements and machines worldwide. To bring together all David Brown tractor owners, past employees, past and present distributors, and anyone interested in the former David Brown Tractor organisation. It shall be non-profit making.”

The Club holds a special connection to David Brown’s history. Quarterly meetings were originally held at the Durker Roods Hotel in Meltham but are now hosted at our Meltham Museum. This venue is especially significant, as it was the personal residence of Mr David Brown until the early 1970s, providing an authentic and nostalgic setting that links members directly to the heart of the David Brown story.
Today, David Brown tractors continue to be recognised and respected worldwide for their reliability, engineering excellence, and unique character. From farms to collections, many of these machines are still in regular use, and their continued popularity has played a vital role in the success of the Club. Whether you’re restoring a vintage model or still using a workhorse in the field, the Club is here to support you.
One of the key benefits of membership is the Club’s quarterly magazine, Tractor News. Packed with member-submitted restoration stories, features on rare and working machines, historical insights, and technical articles written by individuals who worked for the company, it’s an invaluable resource for any enthusiast.
In addition to the magazine, the Club provides a wide range of resources and items to support the David Brown community. These include:
1.
Decal sets and instruction manuals for a variety of models.
2.
Technical guidance and expert knowledge from long-time owners and former employees.
3.
A comprehensive merchandise range, featuring boiler suits, T-shirts, posters, mugs, key rings, and more.
4.
Memorabilia and collectables to suit every fan of the brand.

Why We Do What We Do!
Everything we do is driven by a genuine passion for preserving the David Brown legacy. Whether you're a seasoned collector, a first-time restorer, or simply have a soft spot for these classic machines, we welcome you to join us.
